About the Alpbachtal

The Alpbachtal is a beautiful valley in the KitzbĂĽhel Alps. It takes its name from the Alpbach stream, which flows through the entire valley. The entrance to the valley is the municipality of Brixlegg. A road from Brixlegg runs through the valley to the parish of Inneralpbach.

In summer the valley is considered a hiking valley; there are also several alpine pastures. In winter, as almost everywhere in Tyrol, ski tourism dominates.

Dining in the Alpbachtal

Restaurants

  • Gasthof Jakober: an old and authentic Tyrolean inn.
  • A favorite among locals is Flo’s Restaurant. The menu includes everything from international to Austrian and Tyrolean dishes.

Jausenstation

  • The cosy and informal Jausenstation Zottahof looks down on Alpbach and is renowned for its matchless Kaiserschmarren. The recipe has been handed down from generation to generation and is well-guarded secret. This Kaiserschmarren is not served the traditional chopped up way, but come as a fluffy-sweet large omelette and is served with cranberries. Indescribable – one has to try for oneself! Another house speciality is the “Löffelmilch” – a sweet alcoholic milk beverage – which ingredients are also “top secret”.
